It's true, though some might debate it. But writers and readers are visual people. We see images in our minds that are formed either from the words we write or the words we read. We imagine characters, settings, even the horse the hero rides or the dog he owns. One thing I do as a writer is search images, such as old photographs and paintings. They spark my imagination.
