Hello All!
I am happy to announce the release of my inspirational historical romance The Rebel's Pledge in a new and refreshing revised version. The Rebel's Pledge is available now on Kindle for 2.99. Soon it will be out in paperback. If you would like to share this post on your blog, I would appreciate it so much. This week I am giving away one free Kindle copy. All you have to do is post a comment why you would like to read this book. I'll announce the winner later. Now here is what the story is all about...
He was a rebel to King James, hunted down, captured, and enslaved in Colonial Maryland. Haunted by war and wrestling with a troubled past, Matthew Hale pledges to protect the daughter of his former owner and bring her from England to her father's plantation along the Chesapeake, an undertaking that challenges the depth of his courage, and the strength of his faith.
Lara Carey will only wed for love, having kept the story of her parents' unwavering devotion for each other in her heart. When she learns her guardian has promised her in marriage to a rich English lord in order to save the ancestral home, her hopes unravel, until she meets the heroic stranger that rescued her from the hands of a highwayman.

First Day Out Comments from Readers.
'Its 2am and I'm halfway done. My goodness. What a page turner and great character depth.'
'It seems some authors forget the little details
that make history come alive, but not Rita!! No, she’s a historical expert and
brings in the yummy stuff. And thankfully, the characters aren’t 2012 shoved
back to 1600’s, thank God!! Instead they are 1600’s people set in 1600’s, not
2012.'

If The Rebel's Pledge were made into a movie, here are the actors that I would choose.
The infamous Lord Barrington Grey ~ Rufus Sewell
Lara's exiled father, Edmund Carey ~ Michael Gamdom
Friend and advocate, Sir John Fitzhugh ~ James Norrington

Rita, I love your choices of actors and actresses! Off to buy your book now. :)
Oh, thank you, Lynn. You are such a sweetheart. It's fun to imagine movie versions of our books, isn't it?
Well, you don't have to include me in your giveaway because I just purchased it for my Kindle. Your casting is wonderful, so you sold me!
Hi, Rita: My only excuse for wanting the book is that I recently finished and loved your last two--and I read mainly on Kindle these days so even better.
Romance, intrigue and history, plus the UK and America sounds like the perfect partnership and plot for a story. Why would I not want to win it :-)
I think I love every single one of those actors!
I would love to read your work! We're missionaries to Mexico and Nicaragua. A friend suggested I look for giveaways for my 2nd gen. Kindle to have something to read when out of the country. Otherwise I use the library in the states cause it's free!!!
Tried to find a personal email...THANK YOU sooooo much! You just made my day with that blessing!
First and foremost, because I have loved every book that I have been able to get my hands on of yours! Not a lot but the two or three I have read...I love!!
I love this era of time and would love to be able to read this book if you choose me! If so I will be sure to review it on Goodreads, Amazon and on my book blog cabinfeverreading.blogspot.com/

They say never to judge a book by the cover. I like the description of the book and love the cover. I think it looks like a fun read. Thank you for a fun giveaway.

My husband bought me a Kindle for my birthday yesterday, so I am just discovering all the wonderful books available to download. I grew up in the States, in the areas where your book is set, so am fascinated to read how the UK/US settings work out. I mainly read for work purposes (I write magazine articles, bible study notes etc) but this looks like the perfect feet up, cup of tea literary break I long for! ;) Thanks so much for this offer. (Oh and I would certainly advertise the book on my own site too - www.clairemusters.com)
Hi All,
Well the giveaway is over...for now. I'm sure I'll have another in the near future when the paperback is released.
Everyone on the list, except for those that said they already had a copy, won! However, I am waiting to hear back from a couple of you. I need your email addresses.
Blessings,
Rita
