BOOK 2 in THE DAUGHTERS OF THE POTOMAC SERIES. . .

BESIDE TWO RIVERS is scheduled for release in just 5 weeks, October 1.

I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by since I signed the contract for this series in 2010. So many of my readers have been in touch with me about this next book in the series, expressing their anticipation to find out what happens next.

Here is a little bit about the story.

Eliza’s daughter, Darcy Morgan, hungers for the details of her past. Vaguely can she recall the day her father, Hayward Morgan, returned home from fighting in the American Revolution. Darcy’s quiet childhood along the two rivers was changed forever, and she grows up believing her mother dead and that her father journeyed west to explore the lands beyond the Blue Ridge.

Her indulging uncle, excitable aunt, and five female cousins cannot shield her from thinking of the mother she loved and the father she barely knew, nor from the fleeting images in her memory of the babe Ilene, nor Sarah and Fiona Goodall her mother’s servants.

From the banks of the Potomac to the misty moors of England, Darcy follows a path where the secrets of the past slowly rise to the surface. She meets Ethan Brennan, a determined young Englishman who embraces her independent spirit and marvels at the simplicity of her faith.

Ethan and Darcy fall in love, and a deceitful plot separates them until Darcy’s ailing grandmother requests she come to England. The estate where her grandmother resides is owned by Hayward’s cousin, a man who once desired Darcy’s mother. Having been rejected by her, his heart is bitter with resentment, which threatens Darcy’s happiness and the lives of those she loves.

BESIDE TWO RIVERS is up for pre-order on all the major bookstores in both e-book and paperback.

Beside Two Rivers stirred me like no other book has. Rita Gerlach has a epic style to her writing that is guaranteed to sweep you away to another place and time. With a deeply emotional storyline, characters of uncommon depth, heart-throbbing romance, and the boundless love of family lost and regained, this is truly a magnificent novel!

E-Book Giveaway!

July has been the launch month for the paperback version of The Rebel's Pledge, my inspirational colonial romance that has received 5 star ratings. Like the dime novel, The Rebel's Pledge has a brave and courageous hero and an endearing heroine that loves him, Matthew Hale and Lara Carey. The Rebel's Pledge reflects the family values of our times, such as faith and bravery, the value of human life, the sanctity of marriage, and more.

To celebrate the launch, I am giving away one e-book Kindle version of The Rebel's Pledge. Just post a comment and please include your email address.

From Amazon Reviewers:

'Ladies, load this into your Kindle and take it to the beach. Or tuck in by the fire at a winter resort. Then relax and get drawn into an easy, feel-good read to see if faith and love do conquer all.'

'Once again, Rita's use of imagery (which is second to none) drew me in to another place and time, and her exciting storyline held me there! I loved the main characters, the exciting twists and turns, and oh, the romance! With a satisfying conclusion this book is a page-turner that will keep you burning the proverbial midnight oil!'
